About AAEPlugins
Hey, I'm Denis Stefanides. I built AAEPlugins as a free resource for motion designers and video editors who are tired of digging through scattered marketplaces, Reddit threads, and YouTube videos just to find the right After Effects plugin.
Why I built this
The After Effects plugin ecosystem is scattered. Hundreds of tools live across marketplaces, individual developer sites, and random forum posts. There's no single place to browse what's available, compare options, or quickly understand whether a tool is free, paid, or somewhere in between.
I wanted one clean, honest, regularly updated directory where you can find tools by category, tag, or workflow type, read straightforward descriptions, and compare competing options side by side. So I made one.
What's in here
Every plugin in the directory is catalogued with pricing (free, freemium, paid, or subscription), category, tags, and a plain-language description of what it actually does and who it's for. There are no sponsored placements or ranking manipulation. The goal is to be useful, not promotional.
Beyond the directory itself, I publish curated collections for specific workflows (broadcast, freelancing, VFX, etc.), head-to-head comparisons for plugins that compete in the same space, and blog guides covering the best tools for a given use case.
Corrections & removals
If you're a plugin author and want your listing updated, corrected, or removed, just get in touch. I fix things quickly.
Sources
Plugin data is sourced from developer websites, marketplaces, community discussions on r/AfterEffects, and direct testing. No single source has the full picture, so I cross-reference.
